How does a soldier work out? This question is at the core of the YouTube series ‘Military Workout’, which we create together with employer branding & recruitment advertising agency Radancy for the Dutch Ministry of Defence. The series has been going on for several seasons now. In the past, we saw presenter Jay-Jay Boske, among others, train with the Netherlands Marine Corps (Dutch: het Korps Mariniers), the military engineering company (Dutch: de Genie), and the Commando Corps (Dutch: het Korps Commandotroepen). Unique glimpses into an otherwise hidden world, challenging viewers to join the military workout of the day (WOD).
The brand-new season of Military Workout focuses not only on the physical but certainly also on mental resilience. This makes the series more challenging, stressful, and intense than ever. In the new season, Michiel, sports instructor of the 11 Air Assault Brigade (Dutch: 11 Luchtmobiele Brigade), joins the mental resilience training of units of the 13 Light Brigade of the Army. For this, we specially travelled to a training location in Bad Reichenhall (southern Germany). We filmed the soldiers as they worked on their perseverance and team building while climbing, rafting, and marching. Be sure to watch the four new episodes from January 2023!
